Today was the much awaited huckleberries online blogfest. One of many, many stimulating discussions that I got into involved the readability of my blog. Turns out that a lot of people didn't love my oh-so-cool black and neon look anywhere NEAR as much as I did. They found it hard to read. They couldn't find the posts. Worst of all, they didn't come back because of the eye strain. Oops. Really big oops...
Given that from day one, this blog has never been about just having my own personal good time and to heck with everyone else, it seemed that some change was in order. So I did a redo. In addition to pruning out any fluff that didn't seem to serve a purpose. I just got a thumbs up from Dave Oliveria that the new improved blog design is A-OK. I do believe that he is planning on featuring my humble online abode over on hbo sometime next week, now that my wild colors won't chase 'em all away...Yay!! Of course, I will be linking to it...
A day or so ago, too, a blogging pal pointed out that everything would be so much more readable if only I utilized some spacing. Hot dang, she's right!!! Lookin' good!!!
I even managed to learn something new and humbling about myself: I felt a little pang of annoyance that I didn't figure it out all by myself and someone else did. Uh, oh...yeah...and pride is the mother of all sins, to boot. Ah, well. Ya learn something new every day....
By the way, a great time was had by all at blogfest. Awesome. Teenage daughter sidekicked along with me and had a grand ole time for herself, too. We'll get her blogging yet....
I'm so glad I got to meet you Liz. Also your darling, intelligent daughter who can text message and talk at the same time. Your blog looks great.
ReplyDeletehey thanks!!! It was so great to meet everyone and put faces to names!! My daughter said she really enjoyed being around a lot of adults who took her seriously instead of looking down on her for simply being a teenager..we'll get her blogging yet....
ReplyDeleteSweet colors! I totally agree. I checked on it yesterday too. Good to meet you at the Fest.
